Gonsalvez, an Ellington alumni making one of the easiest transitions to the new music. Wardel Gray was another that changed gears effortlessly. Thanx, Buns, for the treat!

Paul Goncalves of Capeverdean origin, from Pawtucket, RI, played with Count Basie and Dizzy Gillespie. He joined Ellington´s band in 1950, and was the principle soloist in the last 25 years of the Ellington band´s existence.
